  • Description:
    Erect, deciduous shrub from Western Texas and Mexico. Vibrant, scarlet flowers with inflated, orange-tinted calyces from August until the first frosts. New leaves appear on the attractive mahogany-coloured stems in May. We strongly recommend resisting any temptation to prune this plant other than minor formative pruning when in growth - you have been warned
