Salvia elegans ‘Honey Melon’

Herbaceous perennial. This attractive species usually produces its narrow, bright scarlet flowers in late summer and autumn. The flowers are edible and can be sprinkled over a green salad to great effect. This form produces its flowers over a fairly long season between June and November. The leaves have a very pleasant melon-like scent.
Half-hardy so will require winter protection.
